Finnish coat of arms

Todays youth don’t remember that Finland’s first official flag was not our beautiful blue cross but a red-based lion flag with the familiar coat of arms of our country. This flag was in use in 1917-1918, after which the official flag of the state has been a Nordic-style cross flag.
